Ronaldo and Georgina to tie the knot in Madeira

Cristiano Ronaldo and his longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez are set to get married next Saturday in Portugal's Madeira Island, according to British media outlet The Sun. The 41-year-old football superstar and 32-year-old Spanish-Argentine model will exchange vows at the historic cathedral in Funchal, the capital of Madeira. A reception for guests will follow at the luxurious five-star Savoy Palace Hotel.

As security measures for the wedding, two floors and several bars of the hotel will be temporarily closed on Friday and Saturday.

Funchal, Ronaldo's birthplace and the city where he grew up, holds deep sentimental value for him. The footballer, who rose from a struggling childhood to become one of the world's greatest stars, will celebrate one of the most important moments of his life in his homeland.

Ronaldo first met Georgina in 2016 at a luxury fashion store, and their relationship began from there. He proposed to her last year. Speculation about their wedding intensified recently when the couple was spotted wearing diamond rings.
