Ronan Sullivan's brace helps Bangladesh beat Pakistan in SAFF U-20 Championship
Bangladesh cruised to victory against Pakistan in their first group match of the SAFF U-20 Football Championship. The men in red and green started the tournament with a 2-0 win courtesy of a brace from Ronan Sullivan.
Before the match, the spotlight was on the two brothers of Bangladeshi descent, Ronan Sullivan and Declan Sullivan. However, only Ronan made it to the starting eleven; Declan was not in the opening line-up.
On his debut for the national jersey, Ronan proved his mettle. He was active in attack from the start and impressed spectators with his artistic football. Although his solo efforts were not very successful initially, the Bangladesh team gradually gained control of the match.
Seizing the opportunity, Ronan scored twice to seal the victory for his team. With his outstanding performance, the Bangladesh youth side did not allow Pakistan any chance. With this win, Bangladesh made a confident start to the SAFF U-20 Championship.
