Veteran actress Rozina has made her stance clear amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the election of the Bangladesh Film Artists' Association. Expressing deep frustration over the current state of the film industry, she has directed that her body must not be taken to the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) premises after her death.

Speaking at a press conference at her residence in Uttara, the capital, the renowned actress shared her experiences from her long career, the election and the current state of cinema. She announced her final decision never to set foot in the Film Artists' Association again.

"I don't know if I will ever go to the Artists' Association again in my life. But since my identity is tied to BFDC, I cannot forget BFDC entirely. If the Directors' or Producers' Association organises any event, or if I am invited to any government programme there, I will certainly go. Otherwise, I will never set foot in BFDC," she said.

In her bitterness towards the film industry, Rozina also gave a clear and stern directive to her family regarding her final rites. She made it clear that even in her final moments, she should not be taken to BFDC. She blamed the current chaotic environment and the extreme lack of mutual respect at BFDC for this decision.

"I have told my family long ago that after my death, you will not take me to BFDC. This decision is not born out of regret or sorrow. The people who would show even the slightest respect to artistes are no longer there. That respect, that value, that regard for artistes is no longer found there," she said.

Rozina said she had no desire to contest the Artists' Association election. She had agreed to run only at the request and insistence of Joy Chowdhury. However, the very panel she trusted betrayed her in a major way.
