Runa Laila mourns Asha Bhosle, 'my world feels empty'

The news of the death of legendary vocalist Asha Bhosle has brought deep grief to the music scene of the subcontinent. Renowned Bangladeshi singer Runa Laila has expressed her condolences on her demise.

Asha Bhosle breathed her last while undergoing treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Sunday afternoon (April 12). She was 92 years old at the time of her death. She was admitted to the hospital the previous day due to heart disease and respiratory problems.

In an emotional reaction to hearing the news of her death, Runa Laila said, ‘It feels like my world has become empty.’

She also said that the passing of two legends like Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle is an irreparable loss to the music world.

Runa Laila reminisced, saying, "Asha Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar loved me like a mother. The last time we met was during the recording of a song. After that, we kept in touch by phone, but we never spoke for the last time."

Asha Bhosle was a shining star in the music history of the subcontinent. She has captivated generations by giving birth to numerous popular songs in her long career.
