Andre Russell's farewell ended in disappointment as Josh Inglis and Cameron Green powered Australia to an eight-wicket win with unbeaten half-centuries in the second Twenty20 International in Jamaica on Tuesday.

Put into bat, West Indies managed 172-8 as opener Brandon King topscored with a breezy 51 and Russell smashed 36 off 15 balls in his final knock in international cricket.

Australia's Josh Inglis (78) and Cameron Green (56) dismantled the West Indies bowling attack with an unbroken 131-run stand, sealing the chase in just 15.2 overs and giving the visitors a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

After playing his final international match in his birthplace, Russell said, “I’m very grateful to end my career here, in front of my home crowd, family, and friends.”
“The result didn’t go my way, but at the end of the day, I’m happy and thankful. I wish the boys all the best and good luck going forward,” added the 37-year-old, a two-time T-20 World Cup winner.
