Russian plane with 50 onboard goes missing
A passenger plane carrying approximately 50 people has gone missing in Russia’s Far East, officials confirmed Thursday.
The aircraft, operated by Angara Airlines, was en route to the town of Tynda in the Amur region, near the Chinese border, when contact was lost just a few kilometers from its destination.
Russian air traffic controllers reported the disappearance of the An-24 passenger plane, which was last tracked in the skies over the Amur region.
Search and rescue operations have been launched to locate the missing aircraft and ensure the safety of all onboard. Authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the passengers or the crew.
