Russian troops take control of 10 new Ukrainian localities
Russian forces have captured at least 10 new localities in Ukraine over the past week, according to Moscow’s Defense Ministry.
In a statement issued on Friday (October 24), the ministry said that between October 17 and 24, Russian troops seized new territories in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
It also claimed that 22 Ukrainian weapons and equipment depots were destroyed and that multiple airstrikes by Ukrainian forces were repelled during the same period.
According to the ministry, Ukraine lost one Su-27 fighter jet, several guided bombs, and more than a thousand drones in recent fighting.
Kyiv has not yet commented on Moscow’s claims.
The ongoing war, which began with Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, continues to show no signs of de-escalation as both sides engage in fierce battles for control of strategic territories.
