Saif, Sohan included as Bangladesh announces Asia Cup squad
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has unveiled the squad for the Netherlands series and the Asia Cup. Wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan Sohan makes a comeback after three years, with Mohammad Saifuddin and Saif Hasan also included. The Asia Cup will be held in the United Arab Emirates from 9 to 28 September in T20 format.
Bangladesh has been placed in Group B of the Asia Cup, alongside Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. Group A includes India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman. Bangladesh will face Hong Kong in their opening match on 11 September, followed by Sri Lanka on September 13 and Afghanistan on September 16. All of Bangladesh’s group matches will be played in Abu Dhabi, with the final scheduled in Dubai on September 28.
Before the Asia Cup, Bangladesh will play a three-match T20 series against the Netherlands in Sylhet from August 30, with the same squad.
