Saifuddin becomes first Bangladesh batter to hit four consecutive sixes
Mohammad Saifuddin, the Bangladesh pace-bowling all-rounder, endured a nightmare in 2017 when David Miller smashed five consecutive sixes off his over in Potchefstroom—a record that still stands. Nearly nine years later, Saifuddin has rewritten the script with the bat, hitting four consecutive sixes off Brad Evans in the second T20I against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo.
Bangladesh's innings started with a solid opening partnership, but a collapse of five wickets in just 13 balls put them under pressure. Saifuddin, along with Yasir Ali, steadied the innings. The highlight came in the final over, when Saifuddin hit Evans for four consecutive sixes — over square leg, midwicket, fine leg, and again over midwicket. He remained unbeaten on 31 off 10 balls, helping Bangladesh reach 186 for 5.
No other Bangladesh batter had hit four consecutive sixes in T20Is before, making Saifuddin the first to achieve the feat.
In international T20s, Yuvraj Singh was the first to hit six consecutive sixes in a single over in the 2007 World Cup. Kieron Pollard repeated the feat against Sri Lanka in 2021, and Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee also achieved it in 2024 against Qatar.
