Saimum Parvez appointed to GIU Strategy Committee

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has appointed Saimum Parvez to the Strategy Committee of the Governance Innovation Unit under the Prime Minister's Office. He will serve as a Policy, Technology and Innovation Expert on the committee.

The information was disclosed in a notification signed by GIU Deputy Director Md Navid Rezwanul Kabir on Saturday, May 23.

Earlier on April 22, Saimum Parvez was appointed as the Prime Minister's Special Assistant on Environment, Forest and Climate Change with the rank of secretary. With this new appointment, he has received an additional important responsibility.

The notification stated that the Governance Innovation Unit was established under the Prime Minister's Office in 2012 to improve public service delivery through innovative approaches and ensure good governance in administration. A steering committee chaired by the prime minister provides guidance to the unit, while a strategy committee chaired by the Prime Minister's Adviser (Ministry of Public Administration) provides policy advice and strategic support.

Saimum Parvez has now been nominated to this strategy committee as a Policy, Technology and Innovation Expert.
