Senior assistant coach Mohammad Salahuddin and batting coach Mohammad Ashraful will remain with the Bangladesh team for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, confirmed BCB Cricket Operations Committee Chairman Nazmul Abedeen Fahim.

Fahim clarified to the media that both coaches will continue with the team. “There will be no changes in the coaching staff,” he said.

Speculation arose after Salahuddin submitted his resignation to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), which was not accepted, leaving doubts over his inclusion in the World Cup coaching panel. Ashraful’s role had also been uncertain following the Ireland series.

Rumors on November 4 suggested Salahuddin might step down after the Ireland series. However, he will continue in his role, with his contract set to remain valid until 2027.

Salahuddin, one of domestic cricket’s most successful coaches, returned as the national team’s senior assistant coach in November 2024. He previously served as assistant and fielding coach from 2006–2010 and later as a specialist coach at BCB’s National Cricket Academy in 2010–11.

The 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the tournament’s tenth edition, will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8, 2026. Sri Lanka last hosted the event in 2012, and India in 2016.
