Salman Khan suffers from multiple rare neurological disorders
Bollywood megastar Salman Khan has revealed that he is battling multiple complex and rare neurological conditions, including trigeminal neuralgia, arteriovenous (AV) malformation, and a brain aneurysm, reports Hindustan Times.
The actor opened up about his health struggles during a candid appearance on the first episode of Season 3 of 'The Great Kapil Sharma Show' on Netflix.
Salman, 58, first disclosed his diagnosis of trigeminal neuralgia — often referred to as the "suicide disease" due to its excruciating facial pain — back in 2017 during the promotion of his film 'Tubelight'. The condition, which affects the trigeminal nerve in the face, can cause sudden, severe, and stabbing pain, making it one of the most painful neurological disorders.
Speaking to host Kapil Sharma, Salman revealed for the first time that he is also suffering from two other serious health conditions: AV malformation and a brain aneurysm. "I fight with my body every day," the actor said. "It feels like my bones are breaking, my muscles are tearing. But still, I keep working."
AV malformation is a rare condition where abnormal tangles of blood vessels disrupt normal blood circulation, potentially causing clots or even hemorrhaging. Aneurysms, on the other hand, involve abnormal swelling of blood vessels in the brain due to clot formation — a condition that, if ruptured, can lead to life-threatening consequences such as brain damage or death.
According to Hindustan Times report, all three conditions are considered medically serious and demand continuous management and care.
Despite the challenges, Salman Khan remains active in the film industry and continues to work on upcoming projects.
