Pakistan batter Salman Ali Agha has been penalised for losing his temper following a controversial run-out during the second ODI in Mirpur. He received an official reprimand along with one demerit point for throwing his gloves and helmet onto the field in anger after his dismissal.

The incident occurred during the 39th over of Pakistan's innings on Friday. Mohammad Rizwan had played a Mehidy Hasan Miraz delivery straight back to the bowler. Miraz stopped the ball with his foot, and both Salman, who was out of his crease, and Miraz reached for the ball. However, Miraz quickly picked it up and threw it directly to break the stumps. The third umpire confirmed the run-out after review.

Salman was visibly shocked and furious at this unusual mode of dismissal. In anger, he threw his helmet and shouted expletives. He also had a heated exchange with Litton Das on the field. While returning to the dressing room, the Pakistani batter crossed the boundary line and again threw his equipment on the ground.

Match Referee Niamur Rashid handed down the punishment for abusing cricket equipment. As Salman accepted his fault, no formal hearing was required. This is his first demerit point for breaching discipline in the last two years.

It is to be noted that Pakistan levelled the series 1-1 by defeating Bangladesh by a massive margin of 128 runs in Friday's match. The series decider will be held tomorrow at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
