Nearly three decades after the death of Dhallywood's iconic actor Salman Shah, the mystery surrounding his murder case has taken a new turn. The prosecution has revealed sensational information after Ashraful Haque Don, the 4th accused in the case, was produced in court.

The prosecution claims that Salman Shah's wife, Samira, had a secret relationship with industrialist and former film producer Aziz Mohammad Bhai.

Allegedly, it was because of this relationship that a deal was struck with villain actor Ashraful Haque Don to kill Salman Shah for Tk 12 lakh. This information came to light through the statement of a prosecution witness under Section 164.

According to the prosecution, the accused also plotted to kidnap Salman Shah's brother, Billtu, to pressure him into withdrawing the case. During the execution of that plan, the witness was arrested on July 19, 1997, and later gave a confessional statement in court regarding the murder of Salman Shah on July 24, 1997.

The prosecution has demanded that Don be kept in jail custody pending trial. Don was arrested earlier on Sunday from immigration at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and later produced in court.

The court subsequently ordered him to be sent to jail. The trial and investigation of this case will now determine the veracity of these allegations, almost three decades after the actor's death on September 6, 1996.
