Satirical Trump–Epstein sculpture installed near Washington monument
A satirical sculpture depicting US President Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in a scene inspired by the film Titanic has sparked fresh controversy in Washington, D.C..
The roughly 12-foot installation was placed Tuesday (March 10) on the National Mall by an anonymous artist collective calling itself “Secret Handshake,” reports Reuters.
Titled “The King of the World,” the sculpture recreates the iconic “Titanic” bow scene, showing two gold-coloured figures standing atop a replica of a ship’s prow. In the artwork, Trump is depicted standing behind Epstein and holding him in a pose resembling the famous Jack and Rose scene from the film.
The installation faces the Washington Monument, making it clearly visible to visitors walking along the National Mall. A plaque beneath the sculpture contains satirical text referencing luxury travel, lavish parties and “secret drawings,” alluding to the relationship between Trump and Epstein.
In front of the sculpture, ten banners have been arranged in a line facing the United States Capitol. The banners display photographs of Trump and Epstein together along with the slogan “Shack America Safe Again.” While they feature the emblem of the United States Department of Justice, the word “Justice” has been blacked out.
According to Reuters, this is the third artwork installed on the National Mall by the “Secret Handshake” group referencing Trump and Epstein. Earlier installations included a replica of a birthday message allegedly sent to Epstein and another sculpture titled “Best Friends Forever,” depicting the two holding hands.
The identities of the artists remain undisclosed. The group obtained permission from the National Park Service through an intermediary to display the temporary installation, though officials have not confirmed how long the sculpture will remain on display.
