Saudi Arabia has announced the date for the holy Eid-ul-Fitr. Saudi authorities confirmed the information on Wednesday, March 18, following the moon sighting activities for the month of Shawwal 1447 Hijri. A report by Gulf News stated that as the moon was not sighted in the skies of the Middle East, residents of Saudi Arabia will observe one more fast. Consequently, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in the country on Friday, March 20. Earlier, Turkey, Singapore and Australia had announced their Eid-ul-Fitr dates.

পবিত্র ঈদুল ফিতরের তারিখ ঘোষণা করেছে সৌদি আরব। আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে ১৪৪৭ হিজরি সনের শাওয়াল মাসের চাঁদ দেখা কার্যক্রম শেষে বুধবার (১৮ মার্চ) এ তথ্য জানায় সৌদি কর্তৃপক্ষ। গালফ নিউজ এক প্রতিবেদনে জানায়, মধ্যপ্রাচ্যের আকাশে চাঁদ দেখা না যাওয়ায় সৌদি আরবের বাসিন্দারা আরো একটি রোজা পালন করবেন। ফলে দেশটিতে ঈদুল ফিতর উদযাপিত হবে আগামী শুক্রবার (২০ মার্চ)। এর আগে ঈদুল ফিতরের তারিখ ঘোষণা করেছে তুরস্ক, সিঙ্গাপুর ও অস্ট্রেলিয়া।
