Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proposed that Saudi Arabia should establish a Palestinian state on its own territory, citing the country’s vast unoccupied land.

In an interview with Channel 14 on Thursday (February 6), Netanyahu shared his thoughts, which were later reported by the Israeli media outlet Jerusalem Post on Friday (February 7).

Saudi Arabia has made the creation of a Palestinian state a precondition for normalizing relations with Israel, and Riyadh has emphasized that no negotiations will take place on this issue.

In response to a question on the subject, Netanyahu said, "I will not enter into any agreement that endangers Israel as a state. There is no question of supporting the creation of a Palestinian state, particularly after the events of October 7."

"Do you know what that was? There was a Palestinian state. It was called Gaza. Hamas governed Gaza and ran this so-called Palestinian state. And look at what resulted from that — the largest genocide since the Holocaust," he added.

Netanyahu is currently in Washington, where he gave the interview.

Earlier, following a meeting with US President Trump, Netanyahu participated in a joint press conference where Trump unveiled an unexpected plan for the "capture of Gaza."
