Argentina national football team head coach Lionel Scaloni has signed a hand-made 'contract' from a young fan who wants him to remain in charge until the 2030 World Cup. The incident took place in his hometown of Pujato in Santa Fe province, where the 2022 World Cup-winning coach is currently on holiday with his family.

According to local media, hundreds of supporters gather daily to meet Scaloni. Among them was a child named Franco Ottaviani, who arrived with a paper reading "Contract for the 2030 World Cup." Scaloni signed it with a smile.

The child later sent a video message to Argentina Football Association (AFA) President Claudio Tapia, saying, "Now it's your turn," urging him to formally sign a new contract with Scaloni.

The incident comes amid discussions about Scaloni's future. After losing to Spain in the 2026 World Cup final, he had said he would remain in charge until December as per his current contract, after which a decision would be made about his future.

Although the child's 'contract' is symbolic and carries no official or legal validity, it reflects the emotion of Argentine supporters who want to see their beloved coach remain in charge of the national team for longer.
