Shabnam to receive lifetime achievement award

Shabnam, popular heroine of the golden era, will receive lifetime achievement award in the revised list of National Film Awards 2023. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a new notification in this regard on Tuesday (June 2).

The revised notification published by the ministry shows that changes have been made in some categories of the previously announced list. Among them, new decisions have been taken in the lifetime achievement award and best screenplay categories.

After the results of the National Film Awards were announced on January 29, questions and discussions arose about some categories.

After the controversy over the implementation of the judges' recommendations, especially in the lifetime achievement award and best screenplay categories, the concerned authorities took the initiative to reconsider the matter.

Later, the award list was re-evaluated based on the opinions and discussions of the jury members. As part of that process, renowned actress Shabnam has been nominated for lifetime achievement award in the revised notification.

Actress Shabnam and film editor Fazle Haque will jointly receive the lifetime achievement award. Tarek Masud and Abdul Latif Bachchu will also receive the same award. Tasnimul Hasan's name has been announced in the best screenwriter category.
