Shahajpath launches five-day education-cultural festival

Shahajpath High School has organized a five-day "Education-Cultural Festival 2026" aimed at fostering children's creativity, cultural practices, and holistic development. Running from July 21 to July 25 (Shrabon 6 to 10, 1433 BS), the festival's main stage events will take place on July 24 and 25 at the Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium of Bangla Academy.

According to the organizers, the event features classroom-based exhibitions showcasing drawing, crafts, science, social science, and mathematics projects created with the participation of all students from the school. In addition, the schedule includes diverse cultural performances in both Bengali and English, featuring plays, group songs, dance recitals, Jari Gaan, and traditional Puthi recitations.

The grand opening ceremony is set for Friday, July 24, at 5:30pm. Bobby Hajjaj, Minister of State for Primary and Mass Education and Member of Parliament for Dhaka-13, will inaugurate the festival as the chief guest. Following the opening session, students will perform a range of cultural presentations, including plays, dance routines, music, and poetry recitations from 6pm to 8pm.

The second day's main segment will be held on Saturday, July 25, from 5:30pm to 8pm. On this day, students will stage English plays and present additional performances highlighting various aspects of world literature and global culture.

Organizers emphasized that the festival represents a vital element of Shahajpath High School's child-centric educational framework rather than a mere cultural showcase, helping build a supportive environment for developing personality, creativity, self-confidence, and human values among students.

Alongside State Minister Bobby Hajjaj, the event has extended invitations to parents, educators, and child advocates. The organizers have confirmed that the festival events hosted at Bangla Academy remain open to the general public.
