Shakib Khan celebrates birthday with 'Rockstar' teaser release

Shakib Khan is the busiest actor in Dhaka cinema at the moment. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has maintained a strong position in the industry. Shakib is synonymous with audience enthusiasm and the trust of theatre owners. Producers and directors also find their confidence in Shakib. His films are consistently released during both Eids each year, bringing smiles to many theatre owners and reopening many closed cinemas.

This year, a film titled 'Prince', directed by Abu Hayat Mahmud, was released. However, Shakib seems somewhat subdued this time. Yet it cannot be said that the actor has failed, nor can it be said he has been entirely successful. 'Prince' has faced various complications since its Eid release. Although it opened in the most screens, the film was not screened at Star Cineplex from the first day of Eid due to technical issues, according to the producer and director. Even when shown from the fourth day, tickets were sold, but technical glitches led to refunds at several branches. 'Prince' is thus slightly behind expectations. However, it cannot be called a major setback, as the film is still performing strongly in single screens. According to analysts, Shakib appears subdued this time but is not defeated.

Shakib is currently busy shooting his new film 'Rockstar' in Malaysia, having completed several days of filming. Today, March 28, is Shakib's birthday. Born in Gopalganj in 1979, on this special day, the teaser for 'Rockstar' will be released as a birthday gift, according to director Ajman Rusho. The director said they will present a trendy rockstar look belonging to this time. "He is a rock musician who writes his own songs and composes them. We designed the rockstar character based on this idea. We will release it for everyone today on his birthday."

According to the director, Shakib is playing such a character for the first time in his nearly 27-year career. He even learned guitar through practice before the shoot. The story, making style and Shakib Khan's look are all being crafted with freshness. 'Rockstar' is scripted by Ayman Asib Swadhin and produced by Sun Communication. Tanjia Zaman Mithila is the second heroine opposite Shakib, while Sabila Nur is rumoured to be the main heroine, though nothing has been officially confirmed.

Audiences are surely awaiting Shakib's new avatar. This actor has appeared on screen with something new in each film in recent years, and the same is expected this time.

Although Shakib was born in Gopalganj, his childhood was spent in Narayanganj. He began his acting career in 1999 with Sohanur Rahman Sohan's 'Ananta Bhalobasha' and has not looked back since.
