Dhallywood’s top actor Shakib Khan has failed to meet the expectations of the audience, fans and critics this time. His film ‘Prince’ has failed to maintain its success.

Due to various technical complications, the film did not receive the expected response on the first day of its release in the Eid market. Shakib Khan, who came out in public 10 days after its release, blamed the lack of time and adverse circumstances for this failure.

He said these things at a press conference organized after a special screening at Star Cineplex located at Uttara Center Point in the capital on the night of March 31.

Present at the event were director Abu Hayat Mahmud, producer Shirin Sultana, actors Tasnia Farin and Jyotirmoy Kundu, and actors Ejazul Islam and Intekhb Dinor, among others associated with the production.

Shakib Khan said, "When I heard the story of the movie Prince, I felt that it was going to be one of the biggest projects of my career. But due to lack of time, we could not fulfill that expectation. For this, I express my regret on behalf of everyone involved, including the producer. I will try to correct these mistakes in future projects."

He said that he usually chooses one from many stories. However, the situation was different in the case of this movie.

Shakib said, "We did not get permission to shoot in India for three months. Later, we had to dismantle the set and move it to another place. This wasted time. As a result, we had to shoot until the day before Eid, due to which some mistakes remained."

Regarding the producer, Shakib said, "Hayat Mahmud is a talented producer. If we had enough time, we could have presented a better work."

Highlighting his shooting experience, he said, "This is the first movie in my career, the shooting of which had to be done until the day before Eid. I also finished shooting the item song with Tasnia Farin just before Eid. The shooting of the song 'Pori' had to be completed in one day—all due to time constraints."

Shakib Khan also mentioned the technical problems. He said that the movie was not screened in multiplexes for the first five days after its release, which caused a big loss.

He said, we could not enter multiplexes for five days after Eid—it was difficult for us.

Calling on the new government, Shakib Khan said, the cinema industry should not be seen as just a place for entertainment. It is an important medium for shaping society and culture. Therefore, proper patronage and cooperation are needed for the development of this sector.
