Shakib Khan, Idhika Pal may reunite for new film ‘Nihshwo’

Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan and Kolkata-based actress Idhika Paul are reportedly set to reunite for another Dhallywood project, following their appearances together in Priyotoma and Borbaad.

The upcoming film is tentatively titled Nihshwo and is expected to be directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, who previously directed Borbaad. Although the production house, Real Energy Production, has yet to make an official announcement, Idhika is currently among the actresses being considered for the lead role.

Idhika's name gained traction after Sabilla Nur was initially linked to the project. Producer Shahreen Akter Sumi has since clarified that Sabilla is not part of the production's plans.

Hridoy said the casting has not been finalised and that several actresses are under consideration, including Idhika. He also confirmed that the film's title has yet to be officially announced.

The project is expected to blend action, romance and revenge, with filming scheduled to begin in October if preparations remain on track. The producers are targeting Eid-ul-Fitr next year for its theatrical release.

According to the director, the film will have an action-driven narrative but will present Shakib in a different avatar from his previous roles.

Shakib recently returned to Bangladesh after shooting for Soldier in Bangkok. He had begun work on the film after the release of Rockstar during the last Eid season and spent about a week shooting in Thailand.

Meanwhile, Idhika has recently begun filming a new project directed by Srijit Mukherji. She is also reportedly being considered to portray Goddess Durga in a special Mahalaya programme on an Indian Bengali television channel.

Idhika made her big-screen debut opposite Shakib in Priyotoma in 2023, after starting her career in television drama.
