Fans eagerly waiting for the official anthem of the upcoming FIFA World Cup can now rejoice. The theme song for this year's tournament has been revealed as 'Dai Dai', marking the return of Colombian pop icon Shakira to the world stage after 16 years.

Shakira posted a short video on her Instagram account, filmed at Brazil's iconic Maracana Stadium. The 67-second clip shows Shakira at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro, holding the 2026 World Cup match ball, 'Trieonda', and performing parts of the song in English. Dancers can be seen alongside her wearing the jerseys of the United States and Colombia.

FIFA also confirmed that the new official World Cup song will be released by Shakira and Nigerian star Burna Boy on May 14. Burna Boy will be the second performer on the track, which is produced by him. The video clip was also shared on the FIFA World Cup account with the message: "We are ready!"

Shakira is no stranger to the World Cup. She was the face of the iconic 'Waka Waka' theme song for the 2010 South Africa World Cup. She has also performed at the finals of the 2006 and 2014 World Cups.

Last Saturday, she performed a free concert for 2 million people on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro.
