Shariful ruled out of final T20 against Pakistan

Shariful Islam has been ruled out of the third and final T20 against Pakistan after suffering a muscle injury. He will remain out of action for at least two weeks. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed this in a statement on Saturday (May 31).

Shariful sustained the injury while bowling his first over in the second match of the series. He left the field immediately and did not return to bowl or bat. Shamim Hossain stepped in to complete his over. An MRI and further tests later confirmed a Grade 1 muscle strain.

National team physio Delwar Hossain said, “Shariful sustained the injury while bowling in the second T20 match in Lahore on Friday. MRI and other tests confirmed a Grade 1 strain in his right rectus femoris muscle. As a result, he will be unavailable for selection for the next two to three weeks and will undergo rehabilitation under the care of the BCB medical team.”
