Shadik, Farhad elected Ducsu VP, GS

The united student alliance panel, backed by Islami Chhatra Shibir, has secured all three top positions in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election.

According to the final results announced on Wednesday morning (September 10) at the university’s Senate Building by Chief Returning Officer Professor Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Shadik Kayem was elected Vice President (VP), S M Forhad as General Secretary (GS), and Md. Mohiuddin Khan as Assistant General Secretary (AGS).

In the VP race, Shadik Kayem bagged 14,042 votes, while his nearest rival, Chhatra Dal candidate Abidul Islam Khan, received 5,708. Independent candidate Shamim Hossain secured 3,884 votes, and Umama Fatema got 3,389.

For the GS post, S M Forhad won with 10,794 votes, defeating Chhatra Dal’s Tanvir Bari Hamim, who received 5,283, and Resistance Council’s Meghmallar Basu, who secured 4,949 votes.

Meanwhile, Mohiuddin Khan clinched the AGS post with 11,772 votes, leaving behind Chhatra Dal’s Tanvir Al Hadi Maied, who got 5,064 votes.
