Shoaib Akhtar to join BPL as Dhaka Capitals' mentor

Pakistan’s legendary pacer Shoaib Akhtar will serve as mentor for Dhaka Capitals in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the franchise confirmed on Thursday (November 20) via social media.

Last season, Pakistan’s off-spinner Saeed Ajmal held the role, while Akhtar, now a prominent media personality and cricket analyst, takes over for the new campaign.

Dhaka Capitals, owned by Actor Shakib Khan, have already begun assembling their squad ahead of the player draft on 30 November, signing players including Taskin Ahmed, Saif Hassan, Alex Hales, and Usman Khan.

The 12th edition of the BPL, featuring five franchises, is scheduled to start on 19 December, with the final likely on 16 January.
