Singapore is offering eligible foreign nationals a chance to apply for Permanent Residency (PR) with an application fee of just SGD 100—equivalent to approximately Tk 6,834. If approved, the status allows individuals to live and work in Singapore permanently and opens a pathway to future citizenship, according to a report by NDTV.

Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria, which include: Foreign students residing in Singapore for at least two years; Individuals under 21 with a Singaporean citizen or PR parent; Spouses or dependents of Singapore citizens or PR holders; Foreign investors with a minimum investment of SGD 10 million (approx. Tk 683.2 million); Long-term employment pass, S Pass, or equivalent pass holders.

Successful applicants receive a blue identity card that confirms PR status.

Applicants must submit several essential documents, including the passport biodata page, a valid immigration pass, and a recent photograph. If applicable, they must also provide their Employment Pass or S Pass, birth certificate, educational qualifications, and salary slips for the past six months. Additional documents may include the sponsor’s ID, a recommendation letter from a previous employer, a marriage certificate, and the spouse’s educational and employment documents.

To apply for permanent residency in Singapore, applicants must visit the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority’s e-services portal and log in using their SingPass credentials. They must then complete the online application form, upload the required documents, and pay a non-refundable application fee of SGD 100. The processing period typically takes around 4 to 6 months. If approved, applicants must complete further formalities, including obtaining a re-entry permit and receiving their national identity card.
