Singer Nobel granted bail in fraud case

A Dhaka court on Sunday (April 5) granted bail to singer Mainul Ahsan Noble in a case filed over alleged financial fraud involving a promise of marriage.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman approved his bail on a bond of Tk 5,000 following a hearing, defense lawyer Md. Imran Hossain confirmed.

Noble was arrested on February 23 from Siddhirganj in Narayanganj by Demra police and was later sent to jail after a Dhaka court rejected his bail plea the same day.

According to the case statement, Noble allegedly developed a relationship with a woman, Anannya Shabnam Rose, and took Tk 13,18,540 from her between August 2023 and June 2025 on the promise of marriage, but later failed to return the money.

The case was filed on August 13, 2025, and the court assigned the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate. In its report submitted on January 7, the PBI found evidence supporting the allegations.

Noble had earlier been arrested in another case filed at Demra Police Station over allegations of rape and assault. He was granted bail on June 24, five days after marrying the complainant in custody.
