Eid is one of the busiest travel seasons in Bangladesh. Millions of people leave cities and head to their hometowns to celebrate with family and friends. Long hours on buses, trains, launches, and private vehicles can be exhausting, and the journey often takes a toll on the skin. Dust, heat, humidity, dehydration, and lack of sleep can leave the skin looking dull and tired by the time travellers reach their destination.

Skin care experts say that a few simple precautions can help maintain healthy skin throughout the Eid journey.

One of the most important steps is staying hydrated. During long trips, many people drink less water to avoid frequent stops, but dehydration can make the skin dry and lifeless. Carrying a water bottle and drinking regularly can help the skin retain its natural moisture.

Cleansing is another essential part of travel skin care. Dust and pollution can accumulate on the skin during the journey, increasing the risk of clogged pores and breakouts. Dermatologists recommend carrying a gentle facial cleanser or wet wipes suitable for the skin type. Washing the face whenever possible can help remove dirt and excess oil.

Sun protection should not be overlooked, especially for travellers spending time outdoors or near windows during daytime journeys. Applying sunscreen with adequate SPF before leaving home and reapplying it when necessary can protect the skin from harmful UV rays.

Experts also advise travellers to avoid heavy makeup during long trips. Thick cosmetic products can mix with sweat and dust, leading to skin irritation. Instead, a light moisturizer and sunscreen are often enough to keep the skin comfortable and protected.

Sleep plays a major role in skin health. Although crowded Eid travel often makes rest difficult, getting sufficient sleep before and after the journey can help the skin recover from stress and fatigue. Lack of sleep may contribute to dark circles, puffiness, and a tired appearance.

People with sensitive skin should carry their regular skin care products rather than relying on unfamiliar items. Sudden changes in products can sometimes trigger allergic reactions or irritation.

Nutrition is equally important. Eating fresh fruits and avoiding excessive oily or processed foods during travel can support healthy skin from within. Fruits rich in vitamins and antioxidants may help maintain the skin’s natural glow.

As Eid travellers prepare for their holiday journeys, taking a few minutes to care for the skin can make a noticeable difference. With proper hydration, cleansing, sun protection, and rest, it is possible to arrive at the Eid destination looking refreshed and ready to celebrate the festive season.
