Smriti Mandhana becomes women’s cricket’s highest international run-scorer

India’s Smriti Mandhana has become the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket across all formats, overtaking former India captain Mithali Raj during the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup in Dubai.

Mandhana surpassed Mithali’s tally of 10,868 runs in her 303rd international innings while facing Hong Kong in a Group A match at the Dubai International Stadium. New Zealand’s Suzie Bates was also among the previous leading run-scorers.

The 30-year-old left-hander produced a record-setting performance with the bat, smashing 124 off 64 balls, including 14 fours and seven sixes. She was run out in the final over after completing her 18th international century, helping India post 193-5.

The century also took Mandhana past Australia’s former captain Meg Lanning, who had held the record for most centuries in women’s international cricket with 17. Mandhana now has 18.

She also became the first Indian woman to score two centuries in T20 internationals.

Mandhana further extended her lead in the T20 format with her 37th score of 50 or more, the most by any woman in international T20 cricket. Australia’s Beth Mooney is second with 33.

Her overall tally now stands at 10,880 runs from 303 international innings. She has scored 788 runs in nine Tests at an average of 52.53, 5,411 in ODIs at 47.88 and 4,681 in T20Is at a strike rate of 126.55.

With 93 scores of 50 or more across international cricket, Mandhana has also drawn level with Mithali for the joint-most such innings in women’s international cricket.
