Sohel Rana to go to Singapore for treatment
Legendary actor, producer and Liberation War hero Sohel Rana, who has been suffering from eye problems for a long time, is going to Singapore for medical treatment, he announced on social media.
In a Facebook post on Friday, April 3, he wrote, "Insha'Allah, I will leave for Singapore on the night of April 5 for medical examination. Please pray for me. Stay well, everyone."
The post has sparked concern among fans and the film industry, with many wishing him a speedy recovery.
Sohel Rana, a freedom fighter who took part in the 1971 Liberation War, is also a former member of the Bangladesh Army. His real name is Masud Parvez. He gained fame through acting and production in the 1970s and 1980s. He entered the film industry in 1972 by producing the Liberation War-based film 'Ora 11 Jon', directed by the late renowned director Chashi Nazrul Islam.
He made his debut as a hero in 1973 by directing the film 'Masud Rana', where he adopted the screen name Sohel Rana, which later became his permanent identity.
