'Spider-Man: No Way Home' actress Mary Rivera passes away

Veteran actress Mary Egida Rivera, who won audiences' hearts playing Ned's grandmother in Marvel's popular film 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', has passed away. She breathed her last at the age of 82. Her death has cast a shadow of grief over the film industry and Marvel fans.

Citing family sources, international media TMZ reported that Mary Rivera died in Honolulu, Hawaii, on April 15. According to her family, she died after suffering a stroke.

In a memorable scene from the film, Mary Rivera enters the room while Ned, MJ and Spider-Man from an alternate universe are conversing. Mary Egida Rivera was born on June 2, 1943, in Iloilo, Philippines. Alongside acting, she also served as a missionary for many years. In her personal life, she is survived by her husband Alejandro Rivera, four children, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
