Mitchell Starc’s devastating bowling spell powered Australia to a crushing 176-run victory over the West Indies, who were dismissed for just 27—the second-lowest total in Test history—on the third day of the final Test at Sabina Park.

Australia completed a dominant 3-0 series sweep to retain the Frank Worrell Trophy, with earlier wins in Barbados and Grenada.

Starc, who reached 400 Test wickets during the match, claimed six wickets for nine runs, dismantling the West Indies batting lineup. Fellow quick Scott Boland took a hat-trick, the first by an Australian in Tests since 1988.

West Indies narrowly avoided New Zealand’s record low total of 26, set in 1955. The hosts struggled throughout, with captain Royston Chase admitting their batting let them down. “Our bowlers fought hard, but we must improve our batting to compete in the upcoming T20s,” he said.

Chasing 204 runs, the West Indies collapsed early in their second innings, finishing on 121—their lowest total against Australia in 30 years. Alzarri Joseph shone with five wickets for 27 runs, while Shamar Joseph claimed four.

Starc’s 100th Test saw him wreak havoc, picking up key wickets in quick succession and completing the fastest-ever five-wicket haul in just 15 deliveries.

Boland’s hat-trick came in the second session, dismissing three batsmen in consecutive balls.

Australia played without wicketkeeper Alex Carey, who suffered a concussion on day two. Josh Inglis took over behind the stumps.
