Stars, filmakers shine bright at annual Directors’ Guild Iftar in Dhaka

The country’s entertainment fraternity came together for a warm evening of camaraderie, marking the annual iftar and prayer event organised by Directors’ Guild Bangladesh.

The event took place at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka on Saturday (March 14).

The event turned into a lively reunion of artists, filmmakers and media personalities, creating a festive atmosphere as members of the television and film industry shared the spirit of Ramadan.

The programme was attended by the organisation’s president Shahiduzzaman Selim and general secretary Faridul Hasan.

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yaser Khan Chowdhury joined the gathering as the chief guest.

Former guild president Salahuddin lavlu was present as a special guest, while the evening also saw the presence of familiar faces from the industry including Gazi Rakayet, Sajjad Hossain Dodul, Rasheda Lajuk, Din Mohammad Montu, Habib, Nazmul Rony, Raja and Zakia Bari Mamo, among many others.

Beyond the iftar, the gathering served as a joyful networking space where artists and directors exchanged greetings, shared stories and strengthened bonds within the creative community.

Organisers said the evening reflected the unity and collaborative spirit that continues to shape Bangladesh’s entertainment industry.
