The Eid release Dom, directed by Redwan Rony, continues to draw audiences despite not yet hitting single-screen theaters.

A special screening held Thursday (April 2) at a Dhaka multiplex showcased the film to a star-studded audience.

The filmmaker explained that to curb piracy, the movie will initially be available only in cineplexes and multiplexes for the first two to three weeks.

Lead actor Afran Nisho said, “I lived through this character and gave my utmost effort. I hope audiences will see a different side of Nisho on screen.”

Co-star Puja Cherry added, “Dom has been the most challenging project of my career.” The film, based on true events, has received a ‘U’ (universal) certificate without any cuts.

The special screening attracted prominent figures from the film and music industries, including directors Gias Uddin Selim and Raihan Rafi, singers Imran, Kona, and Parsa, actors Tanzika Amin, Sporshia, and Bonni Hasan, as well as host Moushumi Mou.

Chanchal Chowdhury’s presence added extra glamour to the event.

Audience enthusiasm remains high, but piracy concerns have delayed the single-screen release.
