State minister suspends Kamalapur stadium administrator during surprise visit

The second division football league is currently underway at the Kamalapur Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Mostafa Kamal Stadium. The stadium is plagued by various irregularities and lacks a suitable environment for sports, alongside mismanagement.

State Minister for Sports Aminul Haque, during a surprise visit to the stadium on Sunday, uncovered evidence of these irregularities and mismanagement. He ordered the temporary suspension of stadium administrator Shafi Kamal Swapnil over negligence in duties.

Sources indicate that a few months ago, the administrator was given specific responsibilities regarding electrical work on the stadium's north side, waste removal and overall cleanliness. However, even after a long period, he completely failed to implement those directives. Consequently, the state minister took this punitive action after witnessing the situation firsthand during his visit on Sunday.

Additionally, to restore discipline in the stadium, all shop allotments around it have been cancelled immediately. Announcing the cancellation, the minister said, "I do not need rental income from shops here."

Sources said formal proceedings on the matter will commence shortly.

It was also learned that the shop spaces will be allocated to clubs from the first and second divisions for their offices. This will enable the clubs to carry out their activities properly.
