Staying calm is the greatest power: Deepika Padukone
Controversy seems unwilling to leave Deepika Padukone alone since she became a mother. The actor has now found herself at the centre of discussions for turning down a Hollywood blockbuster project.
Deepika was offered a role in the fourth season of the popular Hollywood black comedy series 'The White Lotus'. However, she made it clear that she would not audition for the character.
She does not feel the need to audition at this stage of her career, so the matter did not progress between the two parties. She was also offered a role in the third season earlier, but could not work then due to her pregnancy.
Deepika has also stepped away from the Bollywood films 'Kalki 2' and 'Spirit' recently. Amidst these speculations, she shared a lengthy message on Instagram, which netizens believe is directed at her critics.
In the post, Deepika said, "Staying calm is the greatest power. Anyone can lose their temper, react immediately or shout. That doesn't require any special power. Real power is understood when you remain calm despite the chaos around you."
She further said that staying calm does not mean becoming weak; rather, it is the ability to maintain control over oneself. When the whole world is intoxicated by noise, staying silent is the greatest superpower.
Deepika will next be seen in 'King', directed by Siddharth Anand, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Suhana Khan.
She is also working on director Atlee's new film, opposite Allu Arjun. The film is scheduled for release in December.
