Despite a proposed ceasefire, sporadic attacks and heightened alerts persisted across parts of the Middle East on Wednesday, according to live updates from international media.

Reports from US outlets said Israel continued launching strikes inside Iran, with multiple sites reportedly targeted, including a university facility.

However, there has been no immediate official confirmation from Israeli authorities.

According to AFP, the White House confirmed that Israel had agreed in principle to the ceasefire proposal. Still, ongoing strikes have added uncertainty to the situation, as Israel has yet to issue a formal public statement.

Explosions were also reported in Jerusalem, with residents describing multiple blasts. Authorities issued fresh warnings urging civilians to take precautions.

Elsewhere, Bahrain activated emergency sirens, calling on residents to move to safe shelters. Qatar’s defense ministry said it was intercepting incoming missiles within its airspace, while the United Arab Emirates reported successfully thwarting missile and drone threats allegedly launched from Iran.

Saudi officials also issued alerts in several regions amid fears of potential attacks.

The developments come after the United States and Iran conditionally agreed to a two-week ceasefire, mediated by Pakistan.

US President Donald Trump said the truce would depend on Iran ensuring safe and unrestricted passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
