Sun appears in Dhaka after days of rain, temperatures may rise

After several days of continuous rainfall, the sun appeared in the capital on Tuesday morning, July 14, which may cause temperatures to rise slightly during the day, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

The Met office's forecast for Dhaka and surrounding areas from 7:00 am for the next six hours said the sky may be partly cloudy to temporarily overcast, with chances of rain or thundershowers in some places. Winds from the south or south-east may blow at 10-15 km per hour. Day temperatures may rise slightly.

At 6:00 am on Tuesday, Dhaka recorded a temperature of 27.2 degrees Celsius and relative humidity of 96 percent. The maximum temperature on Monday was 29.2 degrees Celsius, while Tuesday's minimum was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius.

In the past 24 hours, Dhaka received 40mm of rainfall. Sunset will be at 6:49 pm, and sunrise tomorrow at 5:20 am.

Meanwhile, the Met office's 24-hour forecast for the country said until Tuesday evening, most parts of all eight divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers, with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely in some places. Day temperatures may fall slightly, while night temperatures may remain unchanged.
