Brazil and Norway will face off in the last-16 match on Sunday night. However, Brazil have never beaten Norway. But Opta's supercomputer is offering some relief for the Selecao, predicting that Brazil's chances of winning are higher.

Brazil have played Norway four times so far, with Norway winning two and two matches ending in draws. Brazil have never tasted victory against the European side.

Brazil started their World Cup campaign with a draw against Morocco, then confirmed their knockout berth with big wins over Haiti and Scotland. In the Round of 32, they narrowly beat Japan to reach the last-16. Now, Carlo Ancelotti's side face Norway in their quest for a quarter-final spot.

The two teams first met in 1988 in a friendly in Oslo that ended 1-1. Their last meeting was in 2006 at the same venue, also ending 1-1. Between those matches, they met twice more, with Norway winning both, including a 4-2 friendly win in 1997 and a 2-1 victory over Brazil in the 1998 World Cup.

Brazil's record against European sides in recent World Cups has been poor. Since winning the 2002 World Cup, they have been eliminated by European teams in the next five tournaments. This time, they face Norway in the last-16. Will the elimination bell toll again?

However, Opta's supercomputer predicts a change in fortune. According to Opta, Brazil have a 54.2 per cent chance of winning within 90 minutes, while Norway's chances stand at 21.8 per cent. The probability of a draw in regulation time is 24 per cent.

If the match goes to extra time or penalties, Opta still favours Brazil. Overall, Brazil's chances of reaching the quarter-finals are 67.4 per cent, compared to Norway's 32.6 per cent.
