Hollywood's popular actress Valerie Perrin is no more. She breathed her last at her residence in Beverly Hills, USA, on March 23. She was 82 years old at the time of her death. Variety has confirmed this.

According to family sources, the actress had been suffering from Parkinson's disease for a long time. She was diagnosed with the disease in 2015. She continued to fight with determination and positivity until the last day of her life.

On the verge of an Oscar from 'Lenny'

Valerie Perrin received an Oscar nomination for her performance in the movie Lenny, released in 1974. The film was based on the life of stand-up comedian Lenny Bruce, in which Dustin Hoffman played the lead role.

Perrin's performance as 'Honey' in the film won critical acclaim. She portrayed the complex emotional character with subtlety.

Memorable appearance in ‘Superman’

However, she is best known to the general audience for her role as ‘Miss Teshmacher’ in the Superman series.

She was the partner of the villain Lex Luthor opposite Christopher Reeve’s Superman. In this role, Perrin not only highlighted glamour, but also human conflict—especially in those moments when she helps save Superman.

Multifaceted career

In addition to films like The Last American Hero and What Women Want, she has also made guest appearances in popular TV series like ER, The Practice, and Nash Bridges.

From working as a showgirl in Las Vegas at the beginning of her career to appearing on the cover of Playboy magazine—she was a familiar face in the world of glamour. However, over time, the actress has proven herself time and again in the depth of acting, rather than limiting herself to glamour.
