Sur Sudha Sangeetyan's annual cultural festival has been held at the Ramesh Chandra Dutta Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Friday (July 4).

Visually impaired and non-disabled performers came together in a powerful display of talent at the annual cultural festival organized by Sursudha Sangeetyan, a cultural group founded by visually impaired musicians.

The event was supported by the Child Health Awareness Foundation (CHAF) and drew a diverse audience celebrating inclusivity through the arts.

The programme was presided over by Shamim Ara Khan Chowdhury Mita, president of Sur Sudha Sangeetayan, and was attended by Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) Chairman Mansur Ahmed Chowdhury and poet Shamima Disha. The event began with a united rendition of the national anthem, followed by a full evening of performances moderated by the organization’s General Secretary Shahabuddin Ahmed Dolan.

Cultural performances included Nazrul Sangeet, modern songs, folk tunes, poetry recitations, and classical dance. Highlights included Milan Hossain's emotive performance of "Sadh Jaage Mone Por Jibon," Shahabuddin Ahmed's rendition of "Kotodin Dekhini Tomay," and Mir Azizul Haque's folk number "Sonar Ango Pora Angar." Rabindra Sangeet was presented by Kushal Roy, while child artist Safwan Sajid offered a spirited folk song. Flautist Fazlul Haque added a classical note to the evening, and Wasi Muntaha's dance performance to "Moyna Chalat Chalat Chole Re' captivated the audience.

Poetry recitations added a lyrical layer to the program. Swati Dasgupta recited Rabindranath Tagore's "Porichoy," Sajjad Hossain performed Kazi Nazrul Islam's "Aaj Shristi Sukher Ullase," and guest poet Shamima Disha shared an original poem. The evening concluded with a performance by Channel i's Best Vocal Artist Babul Mallick, whose closing song brought the event to an emotional end.
