Vaibhav Suryavanshi stole the spotlight once again in the Tri-Nation ‘A’ series final with a breathtaking batting display, smashing a record-breaking 11-ball fifty in List A cricket before narrowly missing out on a century.

The explosive innings came against Sri Lanka ‘A’ in Dambulla, where the young batter finished with 94 runs off just 29 balls, falling short of a hundred by only six runs.

Suryavanshi set the tone from the outset, striking two boundaries in the very first over. He then launched a devastating assault in the third over, taking on Mohammed Siraj with three sixes and two fours in a 26-run over that shifted momentum completely.

India ‘A’ raced past the 50-run mark within just three overs, with a major share contributed by Suryavanshi’s aggressive stroke play.

The 11-ball fifty broke a 21-year-old List A record of 12 balls, marking a new benchmark in the format.

After reaching his half-century, he continued his attacking approach, dismantling the Sri Lankan bowling attack with a flurry of boundaries and sixes.

However, his blistering knock ended in the ninth over when he was dismissed by Sahan Arachchige for 94.

At the time of his departure, India ‘A’ had surged to 132 in just 8.5 overs, underlining the sheer dominance and tempo of the innings.

Despite the brilliance, Suryavanshi once again missed out on a hundred, continuing a pattern seen in previous innings, including multiple near-centuries in the IPL.
