Tamim elected BCB director with highest votes

The election for the board of directors of the Bangladesh Cricket Board was held on Sunday, June 7, at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, with voting taking place in the BCB office's board room.

Voting ended at 4:00 pm, and the results were announced around 6:00 pm.

Tamim Iqbal received the highest number of votes with 73, followed by Saeed Ibrahim Ahmed and Israfil Khosru with 72 votes each. Masuduzzaman received 70 votes, and Faisal Yasir received 68. Fahim Sinha and Shaniyan Tanim each received 66 votes, Asif Rabbani 64, Mirza Yasir Abbas 63, Rafiqul Islam Babu 53, and Dr Mahbub Shamim 41.

The elected directors from the club category are: Tamim Iqbal, Masuduzzaman, Rafiqul Islam Babu, Mirza Yasir Abbas, Israfil Khosru, Saeed Ibrahim, Shaniyan Tanim, Fahim Sinha, Yasir Faisal, Asif Rabbani, Dr Mahbub Shamim, and Sakef Ahmed Salam.

Sixteen candidates contested for 12 director positions in the club category. The losing candidates are Borhanul Pappu (40 votes), Amjad Hossain (32 votes), Fayazur Rahman Mitu (23 votes), and Imroz Ahmed (20 votes). A total of 74 votes were cast out of 76.
