Tanjid dedicates dream century to parents

Bangladesh have taken control of the first Test against Australia in Darwin, with the second day firmly in their favour. The visitors built a solid resistance with the bat against the Australian bowlers, finishing the day in a strong position, leaving Australia with a challenging target to chase.

At the end of the day, Bangladesh were 351 for 6, taking a 153-run lead over Australia in the first innings. Opener Tanjid Hasan and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto played major roles in putting the team in this commanding position.

Tanjid scored his maiden Test century in only his second Test match. The 25-year-old left-handed opener scored 101 runs off 188 balls, featuring eight fours and a six.

With this century, Tanjid made history as the first Bangladeshi batsman to score a Test century on Australian soil.
