Tanzid Tamim responds to critics on attacking cricket
Bangladesh clinched the series against the Netherlands with back-to-back victories. In the second match on Monday, chasing a target of 103 runs, Liton Das’s side secured a comfortable nine-wicket win with 41 balls to spare.
Despite the wins, criticism of the Tigers continued.
At the post-match press conference, a journalist asked, “Is the team really playing attacking cricket?” Responding, Bangladesh’s young opener Tanzid Tamim said, “We are already playing attacking cricket. How much more attacking do you want?”
He added, “The entire team has been given freedom. Everyone can play their game in their own way. The team management has instructed players to execute their roles on the field according to their responsibilities.”
The Tigers also faced criticism for not batting first after winning the toss. When asked about this, Tamim left the decision to the team management, explaining, “The decision was taken based on the condition of the wicket.”
The next match against the Netherlands will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, starting at 6 pm.
