Tarique to meet Dr Yunus on June 13

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is set to meet Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus in London on June 13.

The information was shared by BNP’s media wing on Monday night (June 9).

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told reporters in the capital's Gulshan on Monday (June 10) that the meeting will be held at Dr. Yunus' hotel from 9 am to 11 am local time.

There is a disagreement between the interim government and the BNP over the schedule of the upcoming national elections in the country.

The government had initially announced that the elections would be held between December this year and June next year. However, in his address to the nation on Friday (June 6), the day before Eid-ul-Azha, the chief adviser announced that the elections would be held in the first half of April next year.

On the other hand, BNP has been demanding elections by December this year since the beginning.
