Taskin Ahmed registers for inaugural Afghanistan Premier League

Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed has officially registered for the inaugural Afghanistan Premier League (APL), putting himself in contention for a place in the new T20 competition.

The APL confirmed Taskin’s registration through its official Instagram account on Wednesday (September 23), while the Afghanistan Cricket Board also announced the development on its social media platforms.

More than 1,000 cricketers, including over 500 overseas players, have registered for the tournament, according to the organisers. The registration process has already closed.

The APL player draft is scheduled for September 27, when franchises will select players and Taskin’s participation will be determined. He has not yet been linked to any particular franchise.

Announcing his registration, the APL invited fans to say which team they would like to see the Bangladesh fast bowler represent.

Taskin, a regular member of Bangladesh’s international side, has also featured in franchise T20 competitions. A successful selection in the APL draft would add another overseas league to his franchise career.
