Despite mounting pressure on smartphone prices due to rising global component costs and changes in the local tax regime, AI-powered global premium smartphone brand Tecno has announced price cuts on selected devices in Bangladesh, offering consumers some relief.

The company said the revised prices took effect from July 1, covering selected models in its Camon and Pova series, as part of its effort to make advanced smartphone technology more affordable.

The move comes at a time when global prices of key components—including semiconductors, memory chips, processors, motherboards and batteries—continue to rise, while the expiry of tax incentives on June 30 has prompted many smartphone brands to consider price hikes.

Under the new pricing, the Tecno Camon 50 (8GB RAM + 256GB storage) has been reduced from Tk 38,999 to Tk 36,999 (VAT applicable). The Camon 50 (8GB RAM + 128GB storage) now costs Tk 31,999, down from Tk 34,999 (VAT applicable).

Tecno said the limited-time offer is designed to give consumers access to flagship-level camera features and premium smartphone experiences at a more affordable price.

The company added that, despite increasing production costs and market challenges, it remains committed to making innovative technology more accessible to Bangladeshi consumers without passing the full financial burden on to customers.

Detailed information about the revised prices and promotional offers is available through Tecno Bangladesh's official website and social media platforms.
